The Food Bank is very pleased to announce that we have been awarded a $15,000 grant for 2017 from the Greenwich United Way. The Greenwich United Way has been a trusted partner of the Greenwich community, government and local organizations since 1933. It has focused on community solutions in the areas of education, financial stability and health for over 80 years.
In awarding The Food Bank its 2017 grant, Karen S. Keegan, Chair of the Greenwich United Way Board of Directors, wrote to The Food Bank's Chair: "We are pleased to point out that your staff in involved, accessible, and approachable and there is clearly a strong need for the Food Bank in the community. Volunteers were impressed with your ability to distribute more fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat to clients, and noted that the demand for your services continues to rise."
The Food Bank is proud and honored to have the Greenwich United Way's support.
